The Men’s Club of Union Church Lunch
October 11, 2017
12:00 noon in the Dining Room
Development of America’s Diesel-electric Locomotives
Diesel-electric played a critical role in the industrialization of America. After WWII, diesels rapidly displaced the steam locomotive as the dominant source of motive power on the rails.
Starting in 1967 Bob MacVicar worked as a project engineer on the design and development of diesel and gas engines. He worked at Fairbanks Morse, General Electric, Cummins and, most recently, Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD). He retired in 2016.
Bob MacVicar is a Registered Professional Engineer with a BS Degree from Boston University and an Associate Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
As always, a delicious $5.00 lunch will be served prior to the program. If you have not made a reservation with your caller, please make one by calling the church office, 630-323-4303 ext. 6652, no later than Monday morning, October 9, 2017.
