Bible Sunday is a special milestone in our children’s spiritual development. Union Church presents children in 3rd grade and older who have not received a Bible with a Spark NRSV Bible. The NRSV Bible is the same translation as the Bible in our pews, but much easier for a child to understand with activity suggestions and reflective questions. This is the Bible we use in Sunday School. Our children and their friends are welcome to receive Bibles. If you know of someone, please let Penny Johnson know at email@example.com.
During the 10:00 am worship service, each child will come forward to receive their Bible. Please let us know the name you prefer for the Bible presentation. You can email Penny at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Wednesday, February 14.
To help your child get started in using their Bible, we suggest coming to the Lenten Wednesday evening reflections from 5:45-6:45 pm beginning on February 18. During the season of Lent, we will be thinking creatively about our faith, about stories and how we know God. Reading the Bible is an important part of that. We will share soup and have an art reflection. We hope you’ll join us!
