DESCRIPTION:Redeemer Lutheran Church and The Union Church of Hinsdale are excited to present Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living on March 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of The Union Church of Hinsdale. “Requiem for the Living” contains five movements\, each containing gripping texts and melodies. Traditionally\, a requiem is a prayer for rest for the deceased. However\, in Dan Forrest’s innovative work\, this prayer becomes a plea for rest for those who are struggling through pain in this life and then guides the listener to hope of peace and rest. From movement to movement\, one can feel the sincerity presented in this beautiful composition. The final movement\, “Lux Aeterna\,” is a satisfying end to “Requiem for the Living.” The lyrics offer a reminder of Christ’s words to the suffering: “Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy laden\, and I will give you rest.” The ending offers peace and hope for the future. \nClick here for the flyer for the event.
