DESCRIPTION:This year’s Christmas Offering will support The Boulevard of Chicago\, one of the mission partners we work with throughout the year. The Boulevard provides residential care for homeless men and women in medical recovery. This 44-bed center on Chicago’s west side offers interim housing and support to ill and injured homeless adults. Residents are provided services to enable them to transition to independent living. \nTo make an online gift\, go the church website and under the drop-down menu choose “Christmas Offering – The Boulevard.” This year\, we have anonymous donors who will generously match gifts up to $10\,000. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive brain condition thought to be caused by repeated blows to the head. \nJim’s first two novels (Unintended Impact and Fatal Incident) have received outstanding reviews from readers and industry professionals. They have been recognized with awards\, including the Eric Hoffer Award\, the Indie Book Award\, and the International Book Award. \nOur speaker received his BA and MBA from Michigan State University and was honored as an outstanding alumni from the Eli Broad College of Business in 2001. SUMMARY:La Bonne Chanson - Recital
DESCRIPTION:Stephen C Edwards\, tenor and Dana Brown\, piano will present a concert of the “most joyful song cycle ever written” by Gabriel Fauré\, “La Bonne Chanson\,” Sunday\, August 14 at 3:00 p.m. Additionally\, Stephen will sing 7 of the 36 selections by Franz Haydn that he and Dana will be recording for the Lexicon Classics Recording Label in November. This festive concert will finish up with songs about pianos including “I love a Piano” by Irving Berlin! For the Haydn pieces\, we will be joined by violinist\, Ilana Setapen and cellist\, David Sands.  The concert promises to be no more than one hour and will fill your heart with joy.  I cannot tell you how excited  I am to share this music with you! \nPlease see the attached flyer here.
