We are very happy to announce that Executive Council voted last night to hire Grant Glowiak as our new Director of Youth Ministries. Grant will begin work immediately, and among his first tasks will be to assure a good and smooth transition from Jeremy Hylen’s leadership to his own. Grant will quickly be forming relationships with the youth, and working with the Youth Ministry and parents to enhance our youth program in every possible way.
After a nationwide search, Grant emerged as our leading candidate, coming from right next door in Western Springs, where Grant has been an assistant youth leader for several years. He also has worked for several years as a leader at Camp Highland. In the final stages of the process he met with our middle school and high school youth, connected well with them, and received their approval. We are very excited to have Grant join us in this central ministry of the congregation.
Below is more information about Grant, coming directly from him.
Everyone, especially youth and their families, please feel free to welcome Grant in person, or by phone or email: 630.323.4303, email@example.com.
Great thanks to all the members of the search committee for the excellent work and result:
Jim Jung, Mary Robinson, Joel Pundmann, Stephanie Ley, Alan Wolfgang, Kirk Grimm, and Trayce Biancalana.
Hi! I’m Grant Glowiak and I am so excited to serve all of you as the new Youth Director. I am currently a student at Chicago Theological Seminary working part-time on a Masters of Divinity and eventual ordination within the UCC. I grew up right next door in Western Springs and I look forward to working and living in such a blessed area as ours. After graduating from Lyons Township High School (which I hope will not be too controversial) I attended Grinnell College and majored in religious studies.
Upon returning I continued my involvement in the church I grew up in, First Congregational Church of Western Springs, and after a short break from academics began my studies in Seminary. I am eager to learn the ins and outs of both the church and the youth programs. My priorities are maintaining the long-standing tradition of fellowship and outreach as well as bringing some new practical and theological concepts to bear on our youth.
Please feel free to introduce yourself to me and I sincerely look forward to meeting all of you!
