An Evening with Father Pfleger
September 25, 2015
6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Light supper begins at 5:30 p.m., prior to the program.
Reverend Doctor Michael Louis Pfleger is a Roman Catholic priest and social activist in Chicago, Illinois. Father Pfleger is the recipient of numerous honors and awards for the work he continues to perform in the areas of human rights and social justice. He has served the predominately African American parish of St. Sabina since 1981. At age 31, Father Pfleger was the youngest full pastor to be appointed in the Chicago Archdiocese. He is considered a passionate leader who champions for equality and justice both in the community he serves and beyond.
Under Father Pfleger’s leadership St. Sabina has established the Employment Resource Center, the Ark Youth Center, the Saint Sabina Social Service Center, the Thea Bowman Advanced Spiritual Center, the Samaritan House for the Homeless, Saint Sabina 80-unit Elders Village and the Beloved Community, Inc.
Join us at a very special event featuring Father Pfleger as he shares with us the work he has done in his parish and community, his vision for social and economic justice and his ideas on how we as Christians should respond to this issue.
