Beginning this Sunday and throughout September we will be partnering with our school, UCECP, to showcase the efforts of our Pop-Up Preschool (PUP) initiatives in the Summit neighborhood this summer. PUP is a part of our UCECI (Union Church Early Childhood Initiative, formally “Before We Get to Mars”) and demonstrates our commitment to providing quality early childhood education to all. Throughout the summer we built relationships with young families in the Summit neighborhood by offering four PUP events each linked to a book and theme from the story.
At the 9:07 service we will take each story and link it to a faith message, while enjoying the accompanying educational experiences from one of our UCECP stations. We’ve also invited some of the families we’ve gotten to know from the Summit neighborhood to join us at worship.
The 9:07 service is a kid-friendly, brief gathering intended as a first step towards worship for children. With that being said, any and all are welcome! We meet in the Close off the circle drive (off Garfield). Feel free to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair. All are welcome!
We do not require masks for outdoor worship for those who are vaccinated (honor system), but we do ask everyone to keep some distance from each other, especially as children are not yet able to get the vaccine.
