You are invited to attend a performance of the Ostrega Uhl Project’s Summer Showcase recital at Union Church of Hinsdale! This concert will feature UCH’s very own Stephen Uhl on piano and Brian Ostrega on violin. The pieces performed will be Beethoven’s famous ‘Spring’ Sonata, Manuel de Falla’s ‘Spanish Dance’ and culminating with Franck’s exhilarating Violin Sonata in A major. We are looking for volunteers to shop for healthy sides for the meals and to hand out and meals to the clients in the Interim Housing Center in Downers Grove. July 4 at 9:30, Union Church’s West Lawn Join us to view Hinsdale’s annual 4th of July parade as it proudly progresses on Garfield Street! The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. Arrive early with your lawn chair (earlier the better) on Union Church’s west lawn — and don’t forget to wear your favorite red, white, and/or blue outfit! Note: As in years past, the Board of Parish Life will provide limited bottles of water and, perhaps, a special treat!

On July 16 at 3pm pianist Matthew Lorenz will give a solo recital at Hinsdale Union Church. Lorenz will be concluding the summer tour of his program "Chopin & Rachmaninoff Live" which features several Chopin classics alongside the rarely-heard complete 13 Preludes op. 32 by Rachmaninoff. We need 5 people to bring the meal and serve the meal at A Just Harvest in Rodgers Park. We also need someone to shop for the meal. This can be done anytime during the week before our date to serve. This event offers an opportunity for attendees to be educated and gain awareness about how to be an active bystander during violent situations, process the lingering trauma of such an event, and help while protecting yourself emotionally and physically.
