Guatemala Mission Trip 2024: Update #5

Stoves 5 & 6- complete! Today a young mom told us that her new stove will serve the community as she will cook for other families too.
CJ and I were working in different homes again. It turns out we are both machinist’s! We cut the cinderblocks…it’s a dirty job, but someone had to do it. lol. All kidding aside, it was another beautiful day as our team and the team from “Dreams and Hopes” continued to bond and grow on this journey together.
After we built the stoves, we went to the youth center and CJ taught 9-13 year olds how to play Volleyball. the children were over the moon to receive balls.
I turned in the feminine hygiene products, adult diapers and bed liners…I thought Chica was going to cry. She knew exactly who she needed to give what. Thank you!!
Then we visited with about 15 scholarship teenagers who are going to be bright stars in this world as a result of their supported HS education. I can’t say it enough— it’s so humbling.
Thank you Dreams and Hopes! Thank you team.
So… who is coming back with me??!
P.S. I am making one of these stoves in my backyard. Want to help?
